Whether you’re applying to Emory College, Oxford College, or both, this guide will walk you through each part of the process. Follow these steps to apply for undergraduate admission to Emory University.

Step 1: Consider Before You Apply

Before you begin your application, explore options that may affect how or when you apply, including financial aid, merit scholarship opportunities, and applying to Emory through QuestBridge.

Step 2: Choose Your Application Plan

Start by choosing the application plan that works for you. First-year applicants can apply through Early Decision or Regular Decision. Transfer applicants follow a separate application process and timeline.

Step 3: Select Your Starting Campus

Emory offers two ways to begin your journey: Emory College in Atlanta or Oxford College in Oxford, Georgia. Apply to one or both through the Common App. All students earn the same Emory degree, with Oxford students transitioning to the Atlanta campus by junior year.

Considering Oxford College?

Oxford Launch: London gives select first-year Oxford students the opportunity to begin their Emory experience abroad. If Oxford College is part of your application, explore the program and decide whether to indicate your interest.

Step 4: Complete Your Common Application

Complete the Common Application and submit the required materials for your application. Use the sections below to review what you’ll need before you submit.

GO TO THE COMMON APPLICATION
Start Your Application
  • Add Emory University to your list of colleges on the Common Application.
  • Select “Yes” or “No” to be considered for the Emory Scholars Program.
Complete Your Essays
  • Complete the general Common Application personal statement.
  • Answer Emory’s additional short-answer questions.
Submit Your Academic Records
  • Official high school transcripts (midyear and final)
  • Official college transcripts (if applicable)
  • Secondary school report
Request Your Recommendation Letters

Two recommendations from core academic teachers (English, math, science, social studies, or foreign language).

Review Testing Requirements
  • TOEFL or IELTS (recommended) if English is not your first language.
  • SAT/ACT (optional): You may self-report in the Common App or send official scores.
  • AP scores: You may self-report in the Common App or send official scores.
  • You can review our policy for standardized exams here.
Pay the Application Fee or Request a Fee Waiver
  • $75 application fee or request a fee waiver.

Step 5: Track Your Application

After you apply, use the applicant portal to track your application status, view checklist items, and make sure all required materials have been received.
