Two Campuses, One Emory

Emory University offers two starting points for undergraduates, each with its own character and leading to the same Emory degree. Emory College, located in a historic Atlanta neighborhood, offers a liberal arts education at the center of a thriving research university in a vibrant, global city.

Oxford College, located on Emory’s idyllic original campus, offers an intensive two-year liberal arts foundation in a close-knit residential setting. Small classes, faculty mentorship, and early access to research and leadership define the experience. After two years, Oxford students continue to the Atlanta campus.

Dooley the Skeleton and Swoop the Eagle, Emory University Mascots

A Little Emory Character

Meet Dooley, the university’s unofficial mascot and “Lord of Misrule,” who has been an Emory tradition since the 1800s, and Swoop, our Emory Eagles mascot, whose spirited sense of play enlivens athletic competition on both campuses. Emory’s Division III varsity sports teams have claimed more than 50 national championships over the last 40 years.
